On May 8th, 2025, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Van Hien University successfully hosted a symposium titled "Teaching Foreign Languages in the Digital Age: Innovations and Challenges." The event provided a valuable platform for faculty members to share academic research and explore emerging trends in language education.
We were honored to welcome Dr. Le Si Hai, representative of the Board of Directors; Mr. Tran Thanh Kiet, the Department of Scientific Management and International Cooperation; Dr. Le Thanh Hoa, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; Mr. Nguyen Vu Anh Duy, Head of the English Language Department along with all faculty members. The report session commenced with a speech by Dr. Le Si Hai, followed by a sharing from Mr. Tran Thanh Kiet. Within the framework of the program, the Faculty of Foreign Languages has selected 05 best reports from the English Language major to present on 08/05/2025 and bring in-depth and practical content.
Ms. Thai Nguyen To Loan, M.A., opened the symposium with an engaging report entitled 'Decoding Language Acquisition: The Role of Input in Mastery.'”. In the sharing section, Ms. Thai Nguyen To Loan focuses on analyzing the process of language acquisition, emphasizing the important role of input language sources in achieving language proficiency. Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, M.A., followed up with the report "Using Flipped Classroom Model to Enhance Pronunciation Skills among English-Majored Students" Students. In the sharing section, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang emphasized the role of the flipped classroom model in improving pronunciation skills for students majoring in English Language. Ms. Nguyen Thi Mo, M.A, reported on the topic "Enhancing English Pronunciation of EFL University Learners Using the Reading Progress Tool in Microsoft Teams". Ms Le Nguyen Thanh Truc, M.A, shared the topic "Encouraging Responsible AI Use in Student Writing: Defining Ethical Guidelines and Implementing Classroom Strategies". MSc. Le Thi Thanh Tam presented the topic "Exploring Tertiary Students' Habits in Using AI Tools to Enhance Writing Skills".
At the end of the program, lecturers and presenters participated in a lively discussion, asking insightful questions to clarify and expand the topics presented, bringing a more comprehensive perspective.
