Teachers and Students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages Participated in Admissions Counseling in Dong Nai Province

From February 19 to February 22, 2015, the Faculty of Foreign Languages successfully organized a career counseling and admissions event for the Class of 2025 for high school students in Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts, Dong Nai province. The Faculty of Foreign Languages would like to express sincere and heartfelt thanks to the school administration and the teachers at Doan Ket High School, Thanh Binh High School, Ton Duc Thang High School, Ngoc Lam High School, Tan Phu High School, Dieu Cai High School, Dinh Quan High School, Tay Son High School, and Lac Long Quan High School for their support and enthusiastic assistance in facilitating this recruitment event.

The admissions counseling event was organized to help high school students in Dong Nai province make informed decisions about choosing appropriate majors at the Faculty of Foreign Languages (English, French, Chinese) and other programs at Van Hien University. Students were also provided with information about the university’s admissions process and future career opportunities. Additionally, the event created a platform for interaction between faculty members, Van Hien University students, and high school students, helping them learn more about the culture and languages of English, French, and Chinese.

On the organizational side, Dr. Le Thanh Hoa was in charge as the head of the admissions committee for this trip. The delegation included Master Dong Thi Khanh Duyen, Master Rossiter James Timothy, Master Le Nguyen Thanh Truc, Master Pham Thanh Anh, along with two students from the Calligraphy Club and two Van Hien University ambassadors

The members and students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages shared and introduced admissions information about the Faculty and the University to high school students in Dong Nai province. The organizing committee also provided detailed guidance on the university’s admissions procedures and requirements, and distributed admissions forms for Van Hien University. Especially, the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized a cultural and language exchange session with the foreign lecturer from New Zealand, Mr. Rossiter James Timothy. This was an opportunity for students to experience an international learning environment, including activities such as quick-fire questions in class, one-on-one interviews, and group discussions.

In addition, during this admissions event, the students also had the opportunity to experience Chinese culture through a calligraphy booth and participate in calligraphy activities to celebrate the beginning of the year. This activity aimed to help the students expand their knowledge of Chinese characters and traditional calligraphy.

The activities of the program mainly took place in classrooms, the lecture hall, and outdoors, during the beginning of lessons and in break periods, with a large number of students participating. The Faculty of Foreign Languages would like to express sincere gratitude to the school administration and the teachers at the high schools in Dong Nai province for their wholehearted support in mobilizing and managing students to ensure the success of this event. At the end of the program, students gained valuable information about the academic programs at Van Hien University and had the opportunity to receive meaningful gifts from the organizing committee.
