The English Club of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Van Hien University successfully organized its November meeting, themed “Social Media: Algorithms and the Internet.” This is a timely topic closely related to the digital lives of the younger generation and is particularly relevant to students studying and researching in the fields of language, communication, and technology. The meeting was lively and attracted enthusiastic participation from students, with many interesting and creative academic activities.

The students enthusiastically participated in the meeting

The program began with a warm-up session discussing personal perspectives on social media. The students shared a range of diverse viewpoints on the positive aspects and limitations of social media in modern life. These sincere and varied opinions contributed to creating an open atmosphere, helping the students feel better prepared for the more in-depth content that followed.

Following the program was a vocabulary game designed to reinforce key terms related to social media, algorithms, and the Internet. The activity not only helped students retain knowledge but also brought a lively spirit, fostering connection and encouraging healthy competition among the groups.

After the warm-up, the students participated in a series of multiple-choice questions designed to closely align with the theme “Social Media & Algorithms.” The questions not only helped test the students’ knowledge but also broadened their perspectives on how algorithms operate, their impact on user behavior, as well as ethical issues and cybersecurity concerns.
