In the era of deep international integration, equipping students with strong foreign language proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills has become a core objective. Aligned with a practice-oriented training philosophy, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Van Hien University (VHU) consistently encourages students to take a proactive role in academic activities. Their participation in the 2026 Anime Dubbing Contest serves as a prime example of students’ dynamism and creativity.
The 2026 Anime Dubbing Contest was organized by the Japanese Language Club of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT). The event attracted a large number of students from various universities across Ho Chi Minh City. Beyond being a linguistic assessment, the contest acted as a cultural forum where contestants could showcase their understanding of Japanese culture and people while honing their language reflexes in a healthy, competitive environment.
The competition consisted of two phases:
Preliminary Round: Held from January 16, 2026, to March 14, 2026, to select the top candidates.
Final Round: Organized on March 28, 2026.
Throughout various segments—ranging from knowledge and language skill tests to presentations and situational problem-solving—contestants demonstrated their comprehensive Japanese language abilities.

Among the participants, Pham Nhat Trung, a third-year Japanese Language major from the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Van Hien University, made a significant impression. He stood out for his serious academic attitude, meticulous preparation, and confident stage presence. His courage to test his skills in an academic arena and achieve high results not only reflects his proactive learning journey but also affirms the quality of training at VHU and the image of its dynamic, globally integrated students.
The success of Pham Nhat Trung is a clear testament to the effectiveness of the practice-linked training model that the Faculty of Foreign Languages pursues. Through these contest experiences, students not only enhance their professional expertise but also accumulate essential soft skills, stage confidence, and adaptability in multicultural environments—vital elements for their future careers.
