Faculty of Foreign Languages hosts exchange program and awards TESOL scholarships to English linguistics students

To provide students with greater access to an international learning environment, enhance professional competence and shape their career paths in English language teaching, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Van Hien University organized an academic exchange program combined with the awarding of scholarships for the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course for English Linguistics students. The event was held in collaboration with Horizon Media and Education, and the ETD Institute of Education and Training Development. The event took place in a formal yet vibrant atmosphere, with the participation of numerous guests, educational experts, lecturers and many students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
The event welcomed Ms. Pham Thi Tu Quyen – Chief Operating Officer of Horizon Media and Education; Ms. Phan Thanh Hong Phuc – Academic Coordinator of Horizon Media and Education; Mr. Truong Quoc Anh, M.A. – Head of Academic Affairs at the ETD Institute of Education and Training Development; and Mr. Nguyen Quang Trieu – Alumnus of the English Language program, one of the top graduates of Van Hien University in 2021, and currently Director of Tony’s English Academy in Gia Lai Province. 
Representing the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Van Hien University, the event welcomed Dr. Nguyen Thi Do Quyen – Vice Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Organizing Committee; Ms. Do Thi Bich Thuy, M.A. – Full-time lecturer in English Linguistics, Advisor of the English Club, Coordinator of Student Activities of the Faculty, and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Pham Duy Phuong, M.A. – Full-time lecturer in English Linguistics; and Ms. Pham Chau Anh Chi, M.A. – Faculty Secretary.
During the program, students had the opportunity to listen to practical insights on English teaching skills, career orientation in the field of education and essential competencies needed to adapt to modern educational trends in the era of international integration. Inspirational career stories shared by experts and successful alumni provided valuable perspectives, helping students gain greater confidence in their personal and professional development journeys.
A highlight of the program was the presentation of TESOL course scholarships for English Linguistics students sponsored by Horizon TESOL. This intensive training program in English language teaching methodology aims to support students in enhancing their professional knowledge, pedagogical skills and future career opportunities.
Accordingly, the Organizing Committee awarded:
03 scholarships worth VND 7,000,000 each;
03 scholarships worth VND 5,000,000 each;
In addition, all students attending the program received scholarship vouchers worth VND 2,000,000 each from Horizon TESOL.
These meaningful scholarships not only provided practical academic support but also served as great encouragement for students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in their pursuit of knowledge and professional growth.

Through this program, the Faculty of Foreign Languages continues to affirm its practice-oriented educational approach, strengthen partnerships with educational institutions and enterprises, and expand learning opportunities for students. At the same time, the event also provided Van Hien University students with valuable exposure to modern educational trends, opportunities for professional skill development and stronger global competencies.
