On the morning of 8 March 2026, Van Hien University welcomed nearly 5,000 lecturers, staff, students, artists and guests to Red Sunday 2026, the annual voluntary blood donation programme. More than a donation drive, the event brought the University community together in a shared spirit of care, generosity and social responsibility.
Over the years, Red Sunday has become a meaningful annual occasion at Van Hien University. It is not only a chance to donate blood and support patients in need, but also a moment for the VHU community to come together through acts of kindness and service. This year’s programme was marked in particular by the energy, enthusiasm and strong sense of solidarity shown by Van Hien students.
Alongside the blood donation activities, the programme also featured a range of support initiatives. The Stay-in-School scholarship fund, worth VND 100 million, was launched to support students facing financial hardship. In addition, 20 computers were presented to university student associations, while 100 scholarships were awarded to students actively involved in blood donation activities.
The event also welcomed guest appearances by artists, beauty queens and runners-up, and featured community projects and campus stalls organised by the Hung Hau Heart Foundation, the Youth Union, the Student Association, and Van Hien University’s clubs and student groups.
Staff and students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages were also among those who took part in Red Sunday 2026. Many registered as blood donors and joined activities throughout the programme, reflecting the Faculty’s continued commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.
Their participation reflected not only a spirit of solidarity and responsibility towards the community, but also the energy, compassion and willingness to share often associated with Van Hien students. Through activities such as these, lecturers and students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages continue to play an active part in the University’s wider social initiatives, while also contributing to a more caring and community-oriented educational environment.
