Within the framework of the Graduation Internship (teaching) module, students of Chinese Language – Faculty of Foreign Languages, Van Hien University participated in an 8-week professional internship program at Bach Nghe Ho Chi Minh College (address: 146 Do Van Dai, Tan Hiep, Hoc Mon, Ho Chi Minh City). This is one of the important modules in the training program, in order to create conditions for students to access the real working environment and gradually apply the knowledge they have learned to teaching activities.
During the internship period, students can directly participate in teaching activities at the unit. Under the guidance of the teacher in charge, students have the opportunity to practice teaching some basic Chinese skills such as reading, writing and listening comprehension, and participate in supporting the organization of classes, preparing lecture content, and interacting with learners. These experiences help students get acquainted with the pedagogical environment, practice their ability to impart knowledge as well as improve their confidence in class.
In addition to directly participating in teaching, students also attend the lessons of classmates and instructors, thereby observing and learning more different teaching methods. Through time attendance activities, students can better understand how to organize lessons, how to manage classes, how to build lecture content suitable for learners' level, as well as how to create a positive learning atmosphere in class. These are valuable practical experiences that students can hardly fully access through theory in the lecture hall alone.
The Graduation Internship module (TESOL) is designed with the goal of helping students have a more comprehensive view of the real working environment at foreign language centers, schools or training institutions. Through the internship process, students not only have a better understanding of the jobs related to the field of study, but also have the opportunity to learn more about foreign language teaching methods, thereby gradually shaping their future career path.
In addition to professional training, the internship process also helps students experience a real working environment, learn how to communicate and behave appropriately in an educational environment as well as build a professional manner in the workplace. These are important skills that help students better prepare for their career journey after graduation.
Through 08 weeks of internship, students majoring in Chinese Language will have more practical experience, accumulate valuable career lessons, and improve their teaching skills and ability to work in an educational environment. These experiences not only help students better understand their chosen field of study but also contribute to creating a solid foundation for future career development.
