Recently, Chinese Language majors from the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Van Hien University made a strong impression on the international academic and artistic stage, achieving outstanding results at the 5th Calligraphy Competition for International Students held in Guangxi Province, China. The competition took place on December 5 in Hechi City, Fengshan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, attracting nearly 120 contestants from more than 20 universities across over 10 countries. This prestigious academic forum aims to honor the artistic value of calligraphy and promote international cultural exchange.
At the competition, two students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages—Ly Hong Kien and Le Dinh Man—demonstrated remarkable composure, a deep understanding of the Chinese language and culture, and strong calligraphy skills. As a result, both students earned places among the Top 10 outstanding contestants. Notably, Ly Hong Kien won the championship (Top 1), while Le Dinh Man achieved a Top 8 ranking, bringing honor to the University and the Faculty of Foreign Languages. Beyond their professional achievements, the moment when the two students were personally presented with awards, shook hands with, and received words of encouragement from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Guangxi Chinese Calligraphy Association affirmed the value and recognition of their persistent efforts in learning and long-term training over time.
According to the plan, the next round of the competition will be expanded nationwide across China, offering greater challenges and new opportunities. The Faculty of Foreign Languages firmly believes that, with a solid academic foundation, a progressive mindset, and a strong passion for the arts, the two students will continue to perform excellently and achieve even greater success in future competitions.
