The Traditional Camping Festival 2024 took place at Damb’ri Waterfall, Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province from June 19 to June 20, 2024,. The event was a great success and the students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages shared many unforgettable memories during the trip. This year’s festival attracted the highest attendance in recent years, with almost 1,000 staff members, lecturers, and students to participate.
The great success of the event resulted from the Organizing Board's careful planning. Before departure, the board conducted several preparatory meetings to ensure the event was well-organized and safe, aiming to provide the students with the best festival experience.
This year's camping festival was organized into six major groups. The Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Accounting and Finance joined Group 4, titled "Challenge," with a slogan "Any challenge can be overcome”. This motto represents that no matter how many hurdles or difficulties we encounter, we can overcome them through collaboration. Group 4 had 139 students and 4 lecturers. Within the group, the lecturers selected key students to help manage the camp.. The group was allocated 8 tents, with each student in charge of managing one and each lecturer supervising two.
During the festival, the students participated in various/a range of engaging and significant activities. They built camp gates together/worked together to build camp gates and engaged in enthusiastic and exciting team-building games. Additionally, the groups assigned campers to design fashion outfits using materials drawn by each group. Campers participated in the flag-raising ceremony, torch relay, talent contest, and fashion show competition among groups during the Gala event on the night of June 19, 2024. The Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Accounting and Finance performed a traditional dance titled “Red Blood, Yellow Skin,” which embodied the national spirit and highlighting the affection for the Vietnamese homeland and its people. In the end, the Organizing Board announced the overall results of the competitions, with Group 4 (“Challenge”) winning the Consolation Prize. Although they did not achieve the highest award, the solidarity of both departments reflected the spirit of this year’s Traditional Camping Festival, promoting connection, interaction, and learning among the students. After the Gala night, there was a cultural exchange and dining activities among campers within and between groups to enhance their connection. On the morning of June 20, 2024, campers had free time to participate in adventure activities, visit the waterfall, and explore the Damb’ri Tourist Area.
