Recently, the "Chinese Phonetic Correction" workshop, organized by the Chinese Club under the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Van Hien University, ended with great success. The event took place in a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere, drawing active participation from a large number of Chinese language enthusiasts. The program not only provided valuable expertise on pronunciation but also inspired a spirit of learning, practice, and language skill refinement among students.
Accurate pronunciation is an important foundation of language learning, particularly for Chinese—a language characterized by its distinct tonal system. To support students in enhancing their pronunciation and communication skills, the workshop focused on practical insights into adjusting tones, mouth shapes, and articulation points, alongside methods to overcome common mistakes. Through detailed guidance and visual examples, students were able to identify their own areas for improvement, progressively perfecting their pronunciation skills.
The workshop was led by PhD Candidate Dr. Nguyen Tan Truong An, the keynote speaker. With his extensive expertise and an engaging, approachable teaching style, he delivered invaluable knowledge paired with hands-on practice and direct interaction. Phonetic correction exercises, language games, and Q&A sessions enlivened the atmosphere, encouraging students to confidently practice, exchange ideas, and absorb knowledge naturally.
