The Van Hien University English Club continued its regular programme in July with “Speak, Play & Create!”, bringing members together for a series of speaking activities, games, and team challenges. Throughout the session, students practised using English, responding quickly, and thinking creatively.
Rather than following a traditional lesson format, the session encouraged students to use English in a range of situations. From simple conversation questions to team challenges, each activity gave members opportunities to practise English naturally and become more comfortable speaking in front of others.
One of the activities, “Find the Differences”, challenged students to study images, quickly identify the differences, and describe them in English. Participants needed to observe carefully, choose appropriate vocabulary, and describe what they saw quickly and clearly. The friendly competition helped create a lively atmosphere and encouraged students to use English more confidently.
The “Mystery Box” challenge combined communication, teamwork, and an element of surprise. One representative from each team described a mystery word without saying it directly, while the other members used the clues given in English to work out the answer. The activity helped students broaden their vocabulary, practise paraphrasing, and think on their feet when communicating in English.
The session concluded with “Sell Your Product!”, a challenge combining English, creative thinking, and presentation skills. Teams had around 20 minutes to choose a product, prepare a short pitch, and present it to the group to persuade their audience. Useful language prompts and guidance helped students develop their ideas and gave each team member a chance to contribute and express their views in English.

Through its regular sessions, the Van Hien University English Club gives students opportunities to practise English while developing skills in teamwork, quick thinking, problem-solving, and presenting ideas. Activities are designed at different levels so that members with varying levels of English can take part, learn from one another, and support their peers. With a focus on making English a more natural part of student life, the Club’s regular sessions continue to give members opportunities to learn through experience, practise through interaction, and develop their English through regular practice.
