On October 24, 2025, 45 first-year students from the VHU Faculty of Foreign Languages had the opportunity to take part in a practical internship trip at Jaxtina English Center (3C Tran Phu, Ward 4, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City), accompanied by Ms. Nim Ngoc Yen (M.A.), a faculty member from the Faculty of Foreign Languages. This activity is part of the Experiential Learning Module (1-credit) designed for students specializing in Business English, Translation-Interpretation, English Teaching Methodology, and International Relations.
The main goal was to help students gain initial exposure to a professional working environment, observe job positions directly related to their majors, and begin forming clear career orientations. At Jaxtina English Center, students were introduced to the center’s scale, organizational structure, and functional departments. They also listened to presentations on workplace culture and human resource development trends within the field of foreign language education and training. During the visit, students were divided into groups according to their specialization to observe and explore specific job roles in greater depth.
For the Business English major, students observed the Marketing and Business Development, Customer Support, and Information Technology groups, where they learned how English is applied in writing emails, promoting products, and communicating with international clients.
For the Translation-Interpretation major, students learned about text-processing workflows, proofreading, translating specialized documents, and providing bilingual customer support. This experience allowed them to practice linguistic reasoning, quick reflexes, and accurate, professional translation skills.
For the English Teaching Methodology major, students observed classes to learn about classroom management, lesson planning, and learning activity design, and participated in supporting extracurricular events at the center. These activities helped them further develop pedagogical skills and communication confidence.
In addition to observation, students engaged in exchanges, asked questions, and held discussions with the center’s staff and instructors, thereby gaining clearer insights into future career expectations. This experience not only strengthened their specialized knowledge but also inspired and guided their study plans for the upcoming university journey. The experience at Jaxtina English Center was meaningful and valuable, serving as a bridge between theory and practice and helping students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages become more confident in defining their career goals and developing essential professional skills.
